Minor Yayness
For those of you who knew about this issue, you will be pleased to learn that I got my two extra weeks of vacation, and am not now going to turn in my resignation, take a huge pay-cut, and opt for early retirement in two years. With four weeks of vacation, plus a week for spring break, a week for Christmas and 15 Fridays off in the summer when we work four nine hour days instead of five 7.5 hour days, I can see my way clear to working the four extra years that will take me to slightly early retirement at age 60. Which I will achieve in five years, seven months, twenty-five days and two minutes. Not that I'm counting, or anything. *G*

Was gonna rant more about The Journal Provider That Shall Not Be Named, asshattery, and some lyrics to Paradise By The Dashboard Light from Meatloaf's legendary rock album, Bat Out of Hell along with a whole lot of stuff about my published work and the current paranoia in publishing that requires authors to ignore accuracy in dealing with historical romance ...but I'm too tired. Maybe over the weekend...

I'm glad that things on the job front worked out.

That's awesome, baby! *smooch*

Hee, are you just going to randomly post Paradise lyrics, or are you gonna tie it all in to the whole "environment of prudery" thing? :D

Oh, definitely the tie-in. That was the entire point of wanting to post them. Because Bat Out of Hell is so damned iconic, so widely recognized as one of the best rock albums of all time, that I think it is important to point out that it would fall under censure, today, for its lyrics.

But, like I said, too tired to post the whole long spiel. I'll have to work on it.

Very much so. The paperwork to settle the estate is in final review with the state. Once they sign off, I can put aside the funds for the trip, and decide exactly where I want to go, and how long I want to stay. Which given my current mood might well be "anywhere but here" and "how's forever? Does forever work for me?" LOL!

That's wonderful news! For me planning the trip is almost (almost!) as fun as the actual trip. I'm so happy for you :D
